Data Management and Sharing

Multiple Ways to Save your Data

Much of the equipment and computers you will use will be considered "Shared", meaning multiple people will have access to it. We have a few guidelines on how you should manage your data on these computers and your own to ensure the integrity and biosecurity of your data.

  • Teams - Teams is a great way to share documents and keep your lab organized. Create a teams page and invite your lab members for easy communication.
  • One Drive - One Drive is also an excellent way to store data and documents in your own university-provided cloud. You can also share folders with other people.
  • External Hard Drives on Shared Equipment - Several shared equipment have external hard drives as backups. However, we highly recommend each lab have its own in case of power failure, etc.

All shared computers are not to be used for private use!
