SciShield

A program maintained by our EHS office, SciShield is an excellent and easy to use tool at our disposal. Through this program, we inventory our chemicals, maintain SDS's, submit waste requests, and submit safety observations. You can also upload any equipment you may use that requires special documentation, such as radiation equipment.

• If you are an employee working for a general lab or a specific PI, please get in touch with that lab or PI to gain access. To login to SciShield, use your WesternU login credentials. 

If you are a new lab that will have your own chemical inventory, waste, and lab members, you will need to have your own SciShield. Please follow the directions to begin! 

To begin tracking your chemicals and obtaining web generated MSDS for your chemicals, please following the directions here. 

Remember, even though the chemical MSDS is listed in this program, it is still required to have MSDS printed per our  General Lab Safety Guide . Please have these available along with your lab's SOPs in the Lab Safety Binders provided by EHS.
