ID Badges & Parking

ID Badges & Parking Access

WesternU requires all lab personnel to visibly wear a University ID Badge while on campus. This badge serves as your official identification and grants you access to secured spaces. Below you’ll find policies, procedures, and parking information relevant to research personnel.

📛 ID Badge Policy

  • Visible at All Times: Badges must be worn while on University premises.
  • Access Control: Badges grant entry to authorized areas only. Do not share or lend your badge.
  • Training Required: Badge access will not be granted until required training is completed.

📝 Obtaining a Badge

  • All badges go through proper channels before being authorized for printing.  For volunteers, this is Risk Management. For all others, HR or the Office of Operations will do the paperwork.
  • Pomona Campus: Visit the Security Desk in the USC Building.
  • Lebanon Campus: Badges are issued by the Office of Operations for your College or Department.
  • Forgot Your Badge? Ask your lab supervisor or lab mates for entry. If unavailable, contact Campus Security.
  • Locked Out? If your badge or keys are locked inside a lab, Campus Security can escort you to retrieve them.

🚨 Lost or Stolen Badge

  • Report all badge losses to Campus Security within 24 hours to deactivate the badge.
  • Email Access Control immediately to begin the replacement process.
  • Notify your lab supervisor and research team.
  • Follow replacement steps outlined by Access Control. A replacement fee may apply.

🚗 Parking Policies

  • Permit Requirement: All vehicles must display a valid WesternU parking permit. Permits are issued through the Bursar’s Office.
  • Permit Display: Attach permit to rear-view mirror or as otherwise instructed to avoid citations.
  • Reserved Spots: Only park in your assigned space. Unauthorized vehicles may be towed.
  • Pomona Overflow: Limited city-permit street parking is available near campus, but not guaranteed.
  • Visitor Parking: Submit a TDX ticket ahead of time for all visitors requiring parking.
