🔐 Security & Access Control

Security and access control are critical in maintaining a safe laboratory environment. WesternU has established stringent guidelines for identification and access to all secure areas on campus.

📥 Obtaining Lab and Vivarium Access

To receive badge or key access to any lab or vivarium at WesternU:

• Complete all required online safety training modules
• Have your supervisor or the Operations Team submit a Badge Access Request Form
• Include the following in the request:
  • Your Employee or Student Badge Number
  • Building and Room Numbers you need access to
  • Your College, Department, and PI (if applicable)

🪪 ID Badge Guidelines

• Issuance and Display: All employees, students, and authorized visitors must wear their ID badges visibly at all times while on campus.
• Access Control: Only authorized personnel with valid credentials may enter restricted areas. Sharing or loaning badges is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action.
• Lost or Stolen Badge: Report immediately to the Security Department. Call 909-706-3000 within 24 hours to deactivate and replace your badge.
