Research Interests

Dr. Giusti's research interests center on educational research into implementing novel methods for teaching Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) and on evaluating students' knowledge and skill development in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM). She served as one of the Executive Editors for the 5th edition of the Foundations of Osteopathic Medicine: Philosophy, Science, Clinical Applications, and Research. Her current research explores osteopathic medical students' motivations for choosing osteopathic medicine, their career outlooks, and the information they received when applying to osteopathic medical school. Her previously published work examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on osteopathic medical education, focusing on how Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (COMs) adapted, including the decision to pause clinical training due to safety concerns and educators' subsequent efforts to redefine clinical education.
