Dr. Goering is actively engaged in several research projects aimed at improving patient care through osteopathic manipulative medicine. He has recently completed a study on Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome, commonly known as "Shin Splints," and is preparing to publish his findings. Additionally, Dr. Goering is in the process of applying for IRB approval for a new study investigating the impact of Quadratus Lumborum Dysfunction on respiratory function. He is also in the planning stages of a case report that will explore the effectiveness of using an OMT protocol for managing headaches.

Dr. Goering's previous published work included a case report on the use of counterstrain, an OMT technique, to both diagnose muscle injuries and treat them. Other published work focused on the importance of individualized care plans and the role of osteopathic principles in improving the quality of life for elderly patients. Finally, he conducted a study that examined the impact of the OMT technique, Compression of the 4th Ventricle (CV4), to reduce anxiety levels in medical students. The study suggested that CV4 may be an effective non-pharmacological approach to managing anxiety, particularly in high-stress environments like medical school.
