Yi-chun Lin

Following an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at Cal Poly Pomona, work continued in Dr. Luo’s lab for a master's degree. Projects focused on the virtual screening of proteins using large databases, such as the ZINC library, through Vina AutoDock and SILCS. In addition to virtual screening, the research also explored protein and nanotube kinetics using molecular dynamics simulations. The membrane proteins studied include hemichannel, mechanosensitive proteins, and potassium channels. Current research interests involve discovering new drug target molecules and investigating protein mechanisms through computational approaches. I am currently a joint PhD candidate at KGI and Western University.
