Thanksgiving Lunch and Mekedi’s Farewell Celebration

On December 13th, our group came together for a memorable Thanksgiving lunch hosted by Dr. Luo, featuring delicious Vietnamese cuisine. The day was extra special as it marked the farewell of Master's student Mekedalwit Eferem (Mekedi), who completed her journey with our group. During her time in Dr. Luo’s lab, Mekedi made notable contributions, including publishing a paper in computational biology. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to her and wish her great success in her future endeavors.

Adding to the festivities, we also celebrated Dr. Ashish Bet’s pre-birthday, as his birthday often coincides with the holiday season. The event was filled with joy, laughter, and the excitement of exchanging gifts through a White Elephant gift exchange.

It was a day of gratitude, celebration, and camaraderie, marking a wonderful close to the year for our group.
