Dr. Deepak Kumar was Awarded 2024 Travel Award for Research on Connexin 26 Hemichannels

We are proud to share that Dr. Deepak Kumar, a Postdoctoral Research Associate at WesternU College of Pharmacy and a member of Dr. Yun (Lyna) Luo’s research group, recently attended the 68th Biophysical Society Meeting in Philadelphia. Dr. Kumar presented his groundbreaking work titled "Deciphering Connexin 26 (CX26) Hemichannels: Beyond Ion Conduction, Into Molecule Transport". 

For his scientific contributions, Dr. Kumar was honored with the  2024 Travel Award, sponsored by the Education, Inclusion and Diversity, Membership, Professional Opportunities for Women, and Early Careers Committee**. This award highlights the impact of his research and his commitment to advancing the field of molecular transport through hemichannels.
