Applied Clinical Behavior & Intervention Scientist

Dr. Carol Lee is an applied clinical behavior & intervention scientist (PhD) with deep expertise in how people thrive, change, and engage during challenging or stressful circumstances. As an applied clinical behavior & intervention scientist, she excels at both measuring and eliciting change in a targeted and science-driven way. Dr. Lee's work takes a scientifically rigorous approach to develop and empirically test:​

  • Frameworks that identify the key mechanisms leading to sustainable and meaningful change.
  • Valid and reliable assessments and outcome measures (i.e. metrics, assessment tools, and COAs) to ensure that we are accurately and consistently measuring change.
  • Cognitive, behavioral, and social interventions that create positive change and outcomes in organizational and clinical contexts.
  • Strategies to increase engagement and adherence to interventions, procedures, and protocols to maximize their effectiveness and impact.

As an established scientist across the health, education, and technology sectors, Dr. Lee is known not only for her scientific rigor but also for her ability to define and innovate in scientific methodology and practice in applied research settings, as well as for communicating science to broad audiences.

Dr. Lee is a clinical science advisor at Bravely Mental Health, where she focuses on improving adherence to evidence-based strategies. Previously, she was the Developer Success Lab's principal scientist, where she developed and scientifically tested ways to improve developer experience and productivity. Dr. Lee was also a professor at Nevada State University, where she developed PROs, identified mechanisms of treatment adherence and engagement, and researched cognitive-behavioral interventions for stress and anxiety-related disorders.
