WesternU Celebrates Student-Led Research

Welcome to the student-run Students in Research webpage, where we plan to showcase and support students' innovative research at Western University of Health Sciences while highlighting research-related opportunities for all students. We want to empower students in research to share their findings and take pride in their work, and also encourage everyone to explore and indulge in the many research opportunities the school has to offer.

Forefront of Research

WesternU COMP professor, Dr. Vishwanath Venketaraman, PhD, received a NIH grant to study potential protections against TB meningitis.

“Despite all the restrictions, I was able to give research opportunities to about 40 different students over the period of four to five years,” Venketaraman said. “Despite COVID, I had so much success in terms of productivity, in terms of publications, in terms of giving opportunities to students and students co-authoring the papers.”
