Our Goal

About the Shared Instrumentation Core

Founded in 2019, the Shared Instrumentation Core at Western University was built on a simple idea: give researchers access to cutting-edge tools and support them in their pursuit of discovery.

Since its inception, the Core has remained a living lab—growing and adapting to meet the evolving needs of our research community. We continuously expand our capabilities, retire outdated systems, and integrate new technologies to stay ahead of emerging scientific questions.

We prioritize responsiveness, innovation, and collaboration—whether you're analyzing molecules, sorting cells, or imaging complex biological systems. This is a lab built by researchers, for researchers.
